Our surface tissue is designed as a print barrier behind gelcoat and as a chemical containment layer. With its very fine weave, it becomes resin-rich when wet out, creating a smooth finish and added protection.
  • Acts as a print barrier to prevent fibre pattern showing through gelcoat
  • Provides a chemical-resistant surface layer
  • Compatible with polyester, vinyl ester, and epoxy resin systems
  • Ideal as a finishing layer for smoothness
  • Can be used as the final layer in tanks for chemical resistance

  • Nominal Thickness: ~0.30mm
  • Glass Type: C-Glass (chemically resistant)
  • Binder: Polystyrene (7–9% by mass)
  • Corrosion Resistance: Acid Class 1, Alkali Class 2, Hydrolytic Class 3
  • Wet-out time: 1–2 seconds in unsaturated polyester resin
  • Resin Absorption: ~250g/m² (8 times the weight of the cloth)
