E-glass needle punched mat is used as muffler packing because it absorbs sound and is heat resistant.  It is suitable for marine exhausts, and performance silencers too.  Packing your muffler correctly and with the right product can improve power by up to 15%.

Quick Tips:

• Wrap the perforated core evenly and ensure the packing remains snug while the muffler is reassembled
• 6mm gives more control over layering the core as you wrap it.  Either fold the mat in half first and then wrap (this will give 12mm thickness per wrap) or keep as a 6mm layering wrap
• 25 mm is out of the box ready to wrap most standard cores
