Biaxial cloth is used to build strength in two directions.  With a 0/90 fibre orientation this cloth adds stiffness and strength in both the length and the width of the laminate.

Features:

• Excellent strength to weight ratio
• For use with Polyester, Vinyl ester and Epoxy resins
• Conforms better than woven rovings and uses less resin

Quick Tips:

• Biaxial (0/90) or Double Bias (+45/-45)?
  • Often american magazines and online sources will say Biaxial cloth and this is typically Double Bias
  • Double Bias is used in transom repairs and hull sheathing
  • Biaxial Cloth is used for stiffness and strength matter for example in panels, bulkheads and floors
• Alternate the orientation of the cloth between layers to increase strength of final product
• Wet out thorough – you will need a good roller to ensure you remove any trapped air and also to consolidate the resin fully into the fibres of this cloth
