100gsm e-glass cloth is a lightweight reinforcement commonly used as the outer sheathing layer on surfboards, foil boards, kayaks and canoes.  It is often laminated with epoxy over timber to create a lightweight waterproof skin with a near-clear finish. It is also popular on drones, model aircraft and RC boats where weight matters but extra strength is needed.

Quick Tips

  • Allow at least 150g of resin per square metre of cloth.
  • Lay the dry cloth and smooth it into position before mixing the resin.
  • Work from the centre outwards are remove the air bubbles as you go while keeping a wet edge.
  • The cloth will be transparent when fully wet out – if it still looks white then the cloth is dry or there is trapped air.
