Vinyl ester resin is a strong chemical-resistant laminating resin made for tough environments where standard polyester resin may not be durable enough.  Compared to epoxy, vinyl ester flows more easily and cures faster while still being tougher than polyester

Features:

  • Cured laminates have excellent resistance to fuels, vapours, and other chemicals
  • Low viscosity so it is easy to pour, easy to wet out cloth, making it easy for hand lay up
  • Bonds well to existing polyester laminates so can be used to repair these
  • Better impact resistance, tolerance to flexing, vibration and thermal expansion than polyester resin

Quick Tips:

  • Catalyse at 1.5-2.5% by weight
  • Mix MEKP in thoroughly for 2-3 minutes scraping the sides and the bottom

  • Tensile Strength: 78–82 MPa
  • Flexural Strength: 120–140 MPa
  • Viscosity @ 25°C: 400–600 cps

  • Shelf Life: ~6 months (from promotion or manufacture date)
